First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who inspired me: The whole team of Resurrectorz and Josh Forman, the creator of the Cartoons & Cereal video for Kendrick Lamar. This Clip is an initiative that is inspired by the song Slime from the mixtape called Looney Tunes. I am the Creative Director of Resurrectorz so I would always come up with ideas and themes for this particular project. This Clip is something I dreamed about. Then I thought about the Cartoons & Cereal video from Josh Forman and I wanted to create something similar because I love collage art. I wanted to make a compilation from multiple cartoons that we watched growing up. We, the team, all grew up in the late 90’s/00’s so this video feels nostalgic. I had so much fun watching cartoons again. I mixed cartoons with anime and real life shows like Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I made this video in my free time. To finish this I had to think during my day to day job what kind of cartoons I would use for the video. I would take notes and save the ideas for later. I also wanted this video to feel like a big party with fun, cool moments, vibes I am not that experienced with editing but I am learning as I want to make a career out of doing creative stuff like this. The project aims to share ways of life inspired by self-help books, eastern philosophies and the value of meditation and mindfulness. This information is packaged in a hip hop album and is formulated in such a way that it connects to the young people who normally would not get in touch with these perspectives so fast. This project does not only contain a music album, but is still in progress to bring these perspectives to the youth in other ways through workshops and a multimedia campaign.
